It's not really contradicting. I have a side gig going on which so far makes me around the same as my salary. Mind you, I only launched this business a month and a half ago.

Why do I want to get rid of my job? Maybe I could be putting more time into my side gig and turn it into a full time thing, which is actually my plan. However, It's still manageable for me to have a job and the side gig.

Now, I'm not touching any of the money the side gig is earning because it's all going to be reinvested so I actually ¨need¨ my job to have fuck you money for fun.

This is why I say life doesn't revolve around employment. There's much more to life than trading most of your time and life for weekends, at least for me.
