All of that is true. But because humans have developed self-awareness, empathy and intelligence, I just see them as more important than animals.

I know this sounds callous, but again, I do not want animals to suffer needlessly at all. It's just that when I have to choose between a human being or an animal, I will go with the human.

Here's what I think.

Humans are way, way more important than animals. It can't really be compared. Humans are also more cruel than animals, much more cruel are actually. Lastly, I do believe that we need one another, killing and hurting animals is just stupid and dangerious for eco system as we need both them and plants here.

I particularly hate people who think animals are better than people.

They're not. Not only do we have self-awareness that is on an entirely different level, we also show far greater levels of compassion than any animal ever could. And to top it off we're number 1 on the food chain.
