I'm not being cynical... just a realist with a sense of humor. You want to be able to experience that kind of vulnerability with someone, but on the other side of that you will ... whether tomorrow or 40 years from now ... will suffer for it. It all comes with the territory. So get practicing. The only thing you'll be able to master is yourself and how you deal with the appreciation and eventual loss while keeping even-keeled in life.
