Serbia is not part of the European Union yet, so that's really not easy. And I guess that's what you would want to do, work somewhere within the EU.

Aaron Hernandez died :(
In the wake of his suicide, his conviction for the the murder of Lloyd will now be vacated because he was still in the process of appealing that decision thanks to a principal known as abatement ab initio.

This means that none of the evidence in that case can be used in any civil lawsuit filed against his estate by members of Lloyd's family, leaving whatever is left of his millions to his young daughter.

This seems relevant.

A final act of selflessness. I always figured, deep down, under all the PCP induced assaults and murders he was an alright guy.
I've never really known much about the guy or seen interviews with him. I just happened to be in the States when he was first arrested in June 2013. Back then the media made him out to be some kind of monster, but I guess the media always do that with murder suspects.

As for the bolded part, I personally know someone (and had known him for over a decade before) who committed a seemingly completely senseless murder and committed suicide in jail soon after. I'm still not sure what to think of him.

How is that selfless?
It depends on your definition of selfishness. I'm sure you are going to sit there and argue that it is selfish, because he's trying to rob victims of their rightful compensation. And that's fine. But in the end he did kill himself to improve the situation of his daughter. There is also a selfless aspect to that.

Have to say I found this whole trial and the investigations which had him as a suspect in five seperate murders somewhat morbidly fascinating. How do you go about murdering people over simple arguments and ego bruising when you have so much in life and so much to lose. Its not like he was some broke gangbanging kid from the projects who knows his only path in life is death or prison so its not like you're giving much up

No, committing a suicide is one of the most selfish human acts in my opinion. If the guy is serving life in prison without parole and is motivated to improve his daughter's situation, then there's absolutely no aspect of selflessness in that.

I don't think you read what I posted before. He's still dead, you know. Life in prison without parole sucks, but who's to say being dead is better?

Also, one could argue each and every human act is selfish.

He did sacrifice himself to secure his daughter's future though no?

Although obviously if he really was a decent father at all he would've thought of his daughter and being there for her before ever murdering people over arguments in the first place

Yeah i think when one chooses death over life it is selfish. You think I say it in a negative way but i don't. And i agree that almost all human act is selfish. That's why i reserve "seflessness" for describing those very few people who deserve to be described that way.

I didn't think you said it in a negative way, but clearly you are using a very broad definition of the word 'selfish'. In any case his life is kind of tragic. Lost his dad at 16, wound up in the NFL at 21, got arrested for murder aged 23 and died aged 27.

Yeah, if that's what you earn, you have to try to leave Serbia and work elsewhere. Easier said than done, I know.
Serbia is not part of the European Union yet, so that's really not easy. And I guess that's what you would want to do, work somewhere within the EU.
Yeah, what enzo said.

I have some friends who tried and keep trying, but they all have more cash so they afford some risks. Plus, some can't do shit even with phd cause of the visa problems.
