In matters of survival, yes, no one's arguing that.

In matters of protecting property, hell no in most cases.

One could argue that if people like X are so inclined to kill another human being just for trespassing, a thief or other kind of trespasser is more likely to kill others too. Because apparently the threshold for killing is different in that society as a whole.

In which case, as fucked up as it is and as much of a vicious circle as it is, you can kind of see X's point.

If anyone enters your domain uninvited, then it is your right nay your responsibility to assume the worst and use lethal force against the intruder. That way it will discourage that majority you speak of who doesn't seek to physically harm you by 'outpricing' them on the proposition.
Leave it to A to use economics to justify lethal force. :D

On this day we felt bombardment by NATO... 18 years ago. Against the law of United Nations and even constitutional law of countries from NATO. I can't believe it. I was 9 years old then but remember it clearly when we were hiding and hearing planes above our heads, rockets flying over. It lasted for 78 days. Around 3000 people were killed while they also used depleted uranium (increased chances for cancer for generations to come, while some studies say how that doesn't happen I say it's BS). Just a couple of days ago I heard how Serbia has the highest % of people dying of cancer in Europe. Nobody said a thing about it. And not just that but right now they want us to join NATO, lick the ass of Americans and all others, and our government is actually doing it.

- highest unemplyment rate
- one of the lowest wages in Europe and standard that makes absolutely zero sense
- decreased population by 35.000 each year
- highest chance of poverity amonth youth
- highest % of getting cancer
- biggest % of people leaving the country, especially among the youth

And we're getting one of the best when it comes to the sport. Basketball, volleyball, waterpolo, tenis etc. we're all getting medals. Education is pretty great too. Which shortly makes me say: nothing makes sense.

Right now we're having presidential election (in less than 2 weeks) and I'll only say how it looks pathetic. Our future president will be our current prime minister who pretty much keeps destroying the country while he (his brother) is getting incredibly rich since he owns almost everything. He has no competition while among most popular is a young guy who wears a white suit, looks like a Jesus, speaks like a moron & is there only to troll... and I mean literally. How sad and how frustrating.
Sounds like your athletes are powered by Uranium-235. Sure, your women are bald. But dammit if they can't chuck a discus all the way to Albania!

Sounds like you have good mutants and bad mutants.
Precisely. But that's what mutants are for. Some advance the species. Most die out as hideous things no one would want to get their genitals near.

I say we allow citizens to own and deploy nuclear weapons in these situations. Mutually assured destruction being an effective policy.

While I would agree with that statement, I don't think it's because psychology was gaining ground that more cases were diagnosed.

The initial response (shaming, disapproval, talk of cowardice) also points to people being confronted with shellshock for the first time.

19th and early 20th century has always fascinated me tbh. I'm very happy being a lawyer, but I wouldn't mind studying that period of time a bit more in depth.

La Belle Époque has always been such a fascinating period of history for me, on all spectrums... science, psychology, philosophy, politics, art, literature, and so on and so forth.

Definitely, that's why I said control and not condition or influence.

Tbh it downrigh scares me how easily ordinary humans can get accustomed to killings, at least according to soldier's diaries & testimonials.

Not unaffected by any means, often coming away with severe disorders, but that usually doesn't affect them in the act
:agree:

Have you read any of the interviews from Rwanda of Hutus who participated in the killings? That stuff makes your blood run cold. Reading it is borderline devastating.

This book:

The authors own insights are rather lacking and even misguided at times imo, the book is best when just relating the words of these imprisoned men. Compelling. But all the same, fucking nightmarish to read.

But that's our point, only a tiny tiny minority of people breaking into a house are looking to physically hurt the owner. So if you don't charge at them, there's very little risk of anyone getting seriously hurt.

Anyways, I think I've said everything I've had to say on this topic, moving on :D
Fair. Where i disagree is putting my own life the hands of sort of person who would desperate enough to do this regardless of their intentions. As i mentioned beforei would do anything, give away any property to avoid unecessary confrontation.

I am biased though, i have had my house broken into before and i was home at the time.

Of course. Most of the time burglars are as scared as you are. But just think about it. If @Bjerknes has his way, your toddler could be dead right now because you couldn't handle the gun properly and accidentally shot her, and your left foot would be missing as they had to amputate it after it was too badly damaged by the the gunshots from the burglars.

Missed opportunity for everyone involved.
You're so dumb, but I don't even own a gun. Perhaps in the future. Then maybe someone could steal it and shoot you in the face.
