Eh, well, I don't know whether I should congratulate you or not. I guess that depends on the pay raise that you might get after the trial period. Like everything else out there it has pros and cons imo. Sadly, I only see pros on the companys side as they'll have quality staff ready for some serious multitasking while also grabbing more profit for themselves for hiring less people do the other job. You, on the other hand, might get burnt out after not too long. Watch out. Try to see the whole role through different angles. I think you might face a difficult situation if it comes down to 'oh I wish I had the previous salary, but less work to do, cause this is killing me'. I've seen that happen many times. Also, good point is that you'd expand your CV and possibly get more opportunity in the future. Me being pessimistic about this is: your situation reminds me of a bigger picture here in this country. People are getting overload with work, you can work everything, so a company that needs 30 people now works with 10. It all started like that here and now here we are, at the bottom of the barrel. Huge unemployment which leads to one thing: you can't dictate terms to the company cause they can easily fire you and getting one of the trillion sitting & waiting/crying to get a job while even taking a huge wage cut compared to yours.
I was in a shit spot myself. I had a poor job while shifts were horrible. Getting such expertise (sales) won't get you anywhere in this country. So I'll judge it from my angle. The fact that I had no life was literally killing me. I was way too tired to do anything while major part of the day was thrown out of the window cause of those shifts. It all let to me read a lot less (basically stopped reading), less time for friends/family, hobbies. Pretty much majority of things that keep me moving just disappeared. For what? Money. Now, here's where we can't really compare cause my wages were pure shit (usual for this place). It was around 230-250e while expenses are like 400e if you wanna get on your feet as an individual. So I basically had nothing to do with the cash no matter how ungrateful that sounds. So I ended up buying a better phone, some new parts for my PC, while majority of cash went on the food, commute, etc. After 9 months I had pretty much one piece of the cake on the side and nothing else. Things that are lost dominated the area, cause not only it felt like stagnating, but more like regressing. I don't put money on the first place but that's maybe because I can't shoot big with it here. It might be different for you.
