why?
do they break Mazdas?
She gave a neighbour a jumpstart on a cold engine and turned it right off afterwards. thus flooding the rotor and draining the battary
An RX-8 starts at 2200rpm, and is assisted by the starter for a minute to rapidly warm up the engine block, because the engine is made for performance high operating temperature. SO the first minute, the battery isnt loading from the engine cause it keeps feeding more then it gains into the starter.
Before this minute the engine is far to cold to run on its own, so it needs the continued help from the starter, and the mixture its getting is far to rich. turning it off will flood the engine. THis is stated specifically at the dealership and in the manual. I never do this, and the car has never ever given me any hard time.
Therefore, i told her 50 times to not move the car untill you hear the starter shut down, and not put too much load untill the temperature is halfway to operating value. Wich she ignored.
