you right wing?? puhlease :p
I know. I'm about as left as you can be without being a straight up commie :D. And as for the nationalism: I like to preserve the status quo because it is dangerous to change national borders just like that, but I think I'd do just fine in a world without Belgium.

You had it coming :D.

I'm sad that we still live in a world where borders are so strictly enforced though. Looking at refugees trying to get into Europe and dying in the process I can't help but feel ashamed that we as Europeans are doing this.

Oh man, I'm more bothered on why those people have to flee their homes.

But I do agree with you borders....i really do dislike them specially when are own borders haven't been made by us and our neighbors through dialogue but through war and exterior interference, add to the mix that Somalis are very territorial, there you have your recipe for civil war for decades.

The Berlin Conference, huh? You know, I wrote my thesis about Somaliland...

But more than the African borders I hate the fortress that is now Europe. Where we should be entering a time of plenty, we'd rather destroy the boats that carry refugees than improve the lives of those people.

Fuckin eh! Should let me read it! :D

Things are slowly getting better for Africa with more african countries dealing with countries like china who bring à lot more for the development of those countries. Look at the work the chinese have done in Ethiopia and several other countries. China has done more for africa in matter of concrete development in a decade then europe has ever done.

Dealing with the china's and India's and brazil of the world is better for african countries then dealing with countries that want to interfere in the politics of said nations that they do business with.

Yes, but you just know there's going to be a catch sooner or later. That's the risk of dealing with China. That being said, the vast improvements in infrastructure in subsaharan Africa in particular cannot be denied.

Best part is it really is a parrot. Unfortunately they can't deny he was sick though, the lab results prove as much. John Cleese should have thought of that!

We're used to catches, as long as they don't catch us its cool, right. :p

But if you're going to invest in a nation, how can you not want to influence politics given the track record? How many despots and people who refuse to step down does Africa need?

But that's beside the point. You look at Burundi, for example, and that's the norm. That has nothing to do with the West.
I'm not saying it's always our fault. But if you're meddling with the politics of other states, you are meddling because you want to protect your own interests, nothing more nothing less.

But who wouldn't under the circumstances? I can assure you China isn't investing with a no-strings-attached policy either.

Slowly recovering from last weekend. Charging batteries at summer cottage they said, just few beers and one joint they said.

And same trip awaits me the next weekend, only different summer cottage. :snoop:
