I agree on both, in fact I been to Spain and Italy (not France yet, except in quick pass through), and I wouldnt exactly choose to live there, just vacation. But the culture, lifestyle, food, weather, vibe of it, is certainly more appealing then North Europe in general for a reason.
I'd take Scandinavia or Germany over Italy and Spain to be honest.

What I love about the south, in comparison to Aus is the work to live mentality as opposed to the live to work mentality. Of course that is probably why Italy finds itself in the predicament its in now :D Where as Aus is going pretty strong, UK as well I guess.

Yeah day to day life in the UK isn't great, however if you have time on your hands and can spend time outside of the City, it's amazing with the right weather and you can get the quality of life.

Honestly, I've been to Milan and Turin in Italy, outside of footballing reasons, both of those Cities are incredibly boring and have little to offer, Turin is positively bland.

No one in Italy considers those places nice.

I wasnt a big fan of Milano, havent been to Turin yet sadly. Was only in Milan for a day but I didnt like the vibe. Roma was much better, at least for me. The south is where its at.

Yeah and a part of me prefers that Mediterranean life. South of Italy. Roma is a nice mix I think.
I'd love to live in the Tuscany region.

Funnily enough (considering our argument earlier today), one of the reasons I might not want to live in Italy is their racism and xenophobia. The way they treat foreigners is riduclous. If you don't speak Italian, you're considered less than human.

I suppose when you die, you'd like to go to heaven too?

I havent been there much but apparently its great. I love how alive Rome is, weather still great as well. But I've heard a lot of people hate Rome. I had the fortune of having family there that know the place, I think that helps.
Rome can be crowded and filthy. Personally I like it very much. If I had to choose a place in Italy Rome would be a possibility.

In Turin I found the opposite, most were very friendly, I had one couple take me round the City to show me.

You really are English :D

Seriously, I've been to to both Barcelona and Madrid and I found neither appealing.

I get what you mean, I think it sort of adds to its charm, I just love the history of the place. There wasnt a day I didnt walk through there and think wow and Ive been there quite a bit. Catania in the south is a cool, gritty city as well. Palermo is a lot cleaner.

Been long while since I been there, but Florence and the whole Toscana region we road tripped through was simply amazing. 2nd best to Rome in general.

But I doubt Firenze (sorry, I absolutely hate 'Florence') is a place where you'd want to live.
I wanted to say Firenze but didnt want to seem pretentious :D

Probably not, but was first there as a 16 year old and it had a big impression on me, incredibly chill and beautiful city and region in general. Maybe bit too small, so prolly Rome as main choice if you gonna live there. Or Bologna, was pretty neat city hehe.

Only city I outwardly disliked in every way was Milano.

Yeah I heard alot of bad things about Italians being arrogant/rude prior to my first trip. I found the opposite, Milan was bad though, everyone seemed to have a pretentious attitude.
Milano is ridiculous. Disgusting city, disgusting people. It's considered Italy's economic heart though. People go there to work.
