I have taken like 8-9 months break from reading :D I dont know, not as in the mood for it as I used to be. Read 3 books in that time period (when I used to read 2-3 a month, mainly certain genre or series at a time). I blame Netflix lol, I have the netflix app on my cell, and used to get into the mood of reading by skim reading a bit on the train to work, now too lazy to do that and watch some random shit on netflix instead (whole 6 seasons of Archer lol),so gotten out of the habit.

Currently trying to re-read all the Witcher books while playing the Witcher 3 game, last time I read them was like couple days a book, now I'm stuck on the first one last 2 weeks lol.
You're a historian right? You studied History in university?

Yeah, also one of my pet peeves and interest since childhood really.

Tend to get into heated arguments meeting new people whenever the subject comes up and someone makes the cliche remark of that it's boring

I used to like History in high school, and I was pretty good at it too. I really wanted to study history in university, but was pushed away from it, because everybody kept telling me that it didn't have good job prospects.

They were right :D but still fascinating subject. One that you don't need Uni for if you wanna get into more now and then.
I agree, at least in this part of the world, most of those who graduated from the Arts didn't have it easy after graduation. :D

You're right though, its a fascinating subject that you can get into on your own.

history is interesting and all but i wouldn't want to study, practise and preach a lie for my entirelife, it would have been fine if they changed it once in a man's lifetime but I've seen the books and teachings change so much and so frequently that i don't even know how much is true, if any

People who think that History is boring? :howler:

It depends on what you want to do, if you'd like to spend your life exploring a subject then the job prospects are good - plenty of room for dedicated researchers throughout the European (that's what I know of) Universities. I don't, so I went the NGO way :D
