you dont pick you friends either really, you talk to people from all walks of life, if theres affinities you hang out, if they cool and reliable they naturally become firends, regardless of looks. But, if some girl is hot and real tight with you, the thought will cross your mind.

As for her feelings, they too are irrelevant unless she opens up to you about em, but thats a rarity, girls, especially over the age of 25, will not hang around waiting for a 'friend' to see more in them, that idiotic approach is usually reserved for dude, hence the whole friend zoned thing.

So I do about an 8km hike in the SF park hills every morning. It's an underused, out-of-the-way grand park that's primarily used by dog walkers and elderly Asians getting their morning exercise.

One of these Asian ladies does nothing but stand around in the woods while incessantly clapping on beat.

If you bust your tail going uphill and come across her, it's like the most cynical applause imaginable.
