Yes, but here's the kicker: the overwhelming majority, like 99.99 percent of obese people eat far more $#@!ty food than others. That it is bad genetics or a societal problem is generally just not true. What you could argue however is that they have an addiction. If you treat it as such, rather than to argue it's genetics because that's a nice thing to say, you can actually help them.

'I ate one hamburger and gained 100 kilos of pure fat', please bitch.
The problem with our country (where all the fat people live) is that we have far too many processed, genetically modified, pure garbage food at every corner. Whether it be fast food, or the majority of products at the grocery store, they are mostly consisted of chemicals and other stuff nobody can pronounce. My wife and I buy and grow organic vegetables, make our own sauces, and never eat any frozen or processed products. They are the reason for so much obesity and cancer, in my view.
I got into an argument with a guy the other day who said that people who dislike GMO are conspiracy theorists. I asked him, do you mean all of Europe are conspiracy theorists? They either label or ban GMO products. Well, uhhh, uh, uhhhhh. Funny enough, the clown is fat, too.
Grow and cook your own food, folks.
