@swag although I have been prepping for it diet-wise..the way my body feels comes as a total shock. I don't know how you handle this feeling. It just feels so off.

I'm a Type I -- what used to be called Juvenile Diabetes. It's a mess. You kind of get used to it. The key being trying to avoid ever getting used to it, because that's when it gets dangerous.

So i can't relate from the diet side, other than I try to eat healthy from time to time. But mostly it's just exercise and insulin for me.

So I'm learning that people here seem to be able to get away with anything they want at work with no consequences. One of my coworkers has on multiple occasions refused to do certain tasks, so our supervisor just gives her the option to just go home for the day, which of course she does. And she still works there... so not only does she get to keep her job but she gets "rewarded" by getting to leave early, essentially she threw a tantrum like a child and got her way. And she's in her 30s, which is even more ridiculous.

Of course since she leaves I have to pick up her slack, not to mention there's a girl at my other job who is habitually late or doesn't even show up at all sometimes, yet still works there and I or someone else always has to do double the work when she isn't there. But the real kicker is two of my supervisors who hate each other's guts and keep trying to sabotage each other and make the other one look bad. HR even had to fly in from Florida this week and mediate between the two of them, one of them totally put on a show, came prepared with tissues and burst into tears making the other one look like a huge bully. And these are supposed to be people in positions of power.

I hate people. Makes me wonder why I even bother putting in my best effort at work with minimal reward when these other idiots can get away with all this shit. Life at home isn't the best right now either so I'm just fed up.

I'm sorry, Ragazza, those people are very, very frustrating but I do like to think that down the line, people remember the shit they pulled.

Reminds me of my boss. Not the waterworks, but the getting away with anything he wants, i.e. "I've decided it's too nice out today to work, so I'm going home. No one should have to stay here when the day is so nice". Like me, he means.

My actual boss is fine actually, got no problems with her except for being too lenient with these people. It's the two assistant managers (who are also my supervisors) who are the ones acting like children. All they do is talk shit about each other, they refuse to cooperate and when my boss isn't there they basically give each other the silent treatment.

L, did you change jobs and start working for Zappos?

Man, all that Holacracy crap sounds a lot like this.

Try to find some solace in knowing that it sounds like some of your coworkers could probably never get a job working anywhere else.

Actually, my friend's girlfriend works for Zappos. And it would be one thing if only one of my workplaces was like this (then I could assume it would be different if I changed jobs) but at least with the flaky/unreliability factor, it seems pervasive in the culture here. My boss at my newer job essentially told me that she likes when she sees a job application from someone who wasn't born here because it means they're likely to have been raised with a better work ethic.

What kind of supervisors do you have? Looks like HR dumped all the trash at your workplace. Hopefully things will get better at home soon.
