So am sitting with my two boys on a bench inside a shopping complex & some fella sitting near us looks relieved as his girlfriend decides to do the shopping solo. The fella whips out his ipad & starts playing chess. Am all beat & he sees that my boys are full of energy so he let's them try some games on his ipad. The boys look at me for approval & I give the ok. He has tries to teach them some musical apps & we strike a conversation while the boys are playing. He's into music & has some nice apps. Just then his girlfriend comes back. We thank him & wave goodbye. They leave & after a while a man in his 50's walks by & stops. "What beautiful children you have there." He says in Swedish. I smile back & say thank you. He then asks if I speak Swedish. I nod & he continues. "I really hope they are allowed to stay in this country & become citizens here. We need more such beautiful kids." I thank him once again too weary to tell him that they were born in Sweden. He asks me if the kids would like some ice cream. I say no while my youngest shouts yes! I assure the old man that it is not necessary & thank him again. So where am I going with this? Just wanted to highlight how small gestures from total strangers leave a lasting impression.
