but you have to agree it's a really smart gimmick, appeals to the ego driven instagram generation, and basically forcing people to donate(or lie about it) it kinda reminds me of the seinfeld episode where kramer refuses to wear the aids ribbon, this whole bucket thing is this generation's ribbon imo
It's a great gimmick in terms of effectiveness of message vitality. I'm just not so sure I want my charities and brutal terrorist regimes copying each other.

Nice. Head high is great. Chest high to just overhead is what I find enjoyable. Anything bigger and it's far too much work paddling, besides the terror aspect of trying to paddle into massive waves. I hope you get some great waves over the next week.

Tofino is on the west side of Vancouver Island, about halfway up the island, nice and exposed to the Pacific. Mostly beach break, with a couple point breaks, but the sandbars can form up pretty good and create some nice waves. Cold water though. Even in summer a 4mil wetsuit is pretty much necessary.
Thanks, should be good. And yeah I bet those water temperatures feel like a constant ice bucket challenge.

I have absolutely no clue about surfing, but it looks like good fun. I wonder how many times you need to be smashed by those waves before you actually pull it off, though.
Quite a few times. Years.

Well, that was my mad realization a couple pages ago: the tactics for ISIS beheading videos and the ALS ice bucket challenge are the same. :pado:
 Very true.

 Exactly right. Then you are shamed into wearing it. I was nominated a couple times but haven't done it. Honestly, dumping a bucket over your head for "awareness" won't do anything for anyone. If you want to do something practical, then donate to a charity or research group.

If the whole crowd is rushing to one door, I'm heading in the other direction, so count me out of this nonsense. I'll donate to my local charity before this.

But the truth is that it really doesn't help.
Very true, apart from the celebrities that donated millions.

I was without internet for most of last 10 days except few occasions, truly bewildering, that for me who doesnt even have Facebook/Instagram or twitter, that I went from hearing or seeing nothing about this 10 days ago, to now getting back home seeing or hearing about it everywhere. One my collegues msged me a vid of him doing it, needless to say imma be mocking the fuck outta him when I get back to work.

Havent seen celeb vids much (besides Mourinho), but I heard Charlie Sheen a funny one of where he pours over himself, a bucket of money instead of water, and saying thats how much he will donate, that it will help unlike just water.
