I guess when you went to india you thought it was ok for people to steal from your pockets? or not?
maybe you don't realise but it's not your regular telemarket trying to sell you stuff, they're actively trying to
scam/steal
it was a she btw
Point is that you're directing your anger at a complete pawn. You might as well insult a wall.
And curiously enough, the first time I was in India I remember being in a mob in Cannaught Circle in Delhi, which set off all my traveling experience alarms to be on the lookout for pickpockets and scam artists. People kept coming up to me and talking and asking questions - probably entertained by the 198cm tall white freak in the middle of the mob.
And while India most certainly has its share of scam artists and thieves, I soon realized I was among none of them. In fact, India ultimately felt a lot more safe to me than much of Europe.
One example: one persistent guy in Connaught Circle asked where I was going. Turns out he was trying to help me out. He led me out of the crowd and down some sidestreets to get where I wanted to go.
Given the guy's shoddy looks and the time he spent helping me out to get to the right place, I figured he was at least playing the tour-guide-tip scam. But satisfied that this guy did help me out for a while, I offered him some rupees. He held up his hand, looked at me like, "Hey, wait on here", and refused. He then went off on his way.
