I really need to think before I answer sometimes, my boss calls me and asks if I wanna work extra tommorrow, I just say yes (awkward to say no when before that told me I get a raise and way more hours), hang up and realize I bought Lucia cinema event tickets for tonight/into the morning (once a year thing in Santa Lucia day). It starts midnight and finishes like 6 in the morning (you watch 3 movies after another), gonna go to work with little to no sleep then :p

Why can't you just call him up and tell him no?

Yeah, same thing happened to me last week. I agreed to take an extra shift so I get a bigger holiday bonus, which meant I had to work on my birthday this year, as well as the day after. So I stayed out late & only got 2-3 hours of sleep, hangover as well.

I can do that easily, but I just forgot my plans when I said yes, but I don't mind working, going there with less or no slept hours is no biggy for me(done much worse, severely hungover or working straight after 16 hour flights/jetlag) . Plus pretty much the time they need personnel the most right now, big re-opening after rebuilt it all, thousand+ costumers there throughout the day. But most importantly, new year evening is off for me after working tomorrow.

Then you should. It's better to work when you're fresh rather than hungover or like a zombie. :D
