I can't believe it, looks like I'll finish my paper in time and not flunk the course.

2000 pages of reading, 25 pages of writing 17 days.

I've covered about 1600 pages of reading and 15 pages of writing by now. 5 days to go. Something tells me I'll hit 20 pages of writing before I clock out tonight. Now I just need to read Condosleezza Rice's book :groan:

I know, but I need to get someone to represent the American side. And my prof. is mad about her book so I guess it'll please him and bump me up a grade :D
your professor sounds like a real swell guy :p

They have made a decision that it's impossible to get a job in a public sector until the end of 2015. I'm absolutely speechless, there's absolutely no hope now.

you deserve better anyway ;) time to get creative wink wink :p

I haven't read the book but the reviews I checked out are pretty much indicating that the book is all about assigning credit to the American delegation at the Ottowa 2+4's - I hope it's like that so I can just skim through it, pick out about 20 references and scatter them around what I've already written :D .

My prof is actually a decent guy, a bit on the boring side but he's all about helping out the students which is great. I sent him 10 pages of what I had written around 6 pm yesterday and he got back to me at 8 with notes and comments - that stuff is rare.

Btw, you feel like doing some archival research in French for me tomorrow? :klin: I'll pay in coke and strippers when I come stateside.

There is absolutely no way to get a starting capital here.

Even IF you are lucky to find it... somehow... then you have to see crazy level of corruption, taxes etc. It's really crazy.

As for the public sector, over here it's the best job you can find. Very good wages, not staying over-time etc. It was awful piece of news that I heard, I'm already depressed.

I feel bad for you job situation Dule, but the decision not to let more people into the public sector is the right thing to do in Serbia at the moment. Let me rephrase that, it's the right step - but you need to open opportunities for people to earn a living some other way than sitting in an office doing nothing. WIthout that it just comes off idiotic.

It's a silly time for that because they are killing private sector for years now. There's absolutely no industry here, anything. You start walking all the way around the city and the only thing you see is betting places, bakeries and damn banks. When you try to start your own job they are literally chopping your balls off making it impossible to make it, they want you to fail. Our unemployment rate is over 25% now (ja cak nisam ni na mrtvom birou pa se i ne racunam), and as for youth we're terrible and next to Spain with over 40% unemployed. They said 40k people will lose their job in the next year as well with reduces wages as well. (No need to mention that our prices are idiotically high, literally the same prices like in Germany at the moment while they have 10 times higher wages). I know what are you saying with that and it does make sense, but looking at the whole picture it's like a harakiri suggestion for all the people because there's simply no way to get a job now. My friends who were brilliant students can't find anything around, even the smallest high-school job. It's just disgusting and sickening.

I agree, its a sad state of affairs. Atleast you're not in Montenegro, though - that place went straight to the shitter.
My friend is there. He can find a job but he prefers Belgrade :lol2: but yeah, it's pretty much the same story there.

Btw I have a bad feeling this is the worst government ever. They are here for what, 1 year, and it's going downhill way too fast. This is totally fucked up. They brag how they caught drug dealers with 30kg of weed and 15 grams of coke? WTF... they sell like 10kg daily in Zemun. Fucking idiots.

Trust me, Montenegro is way worse than Serbia. They have 1 factory in Montenegro, the alluminum plant in Podgorica. They sold 51% of that to ze Ruskies but in return for a loan they agreed to put in a clause where the government of Montenegro pays the deficit while the surplus is split - this was of course on the afterburner of big Russian promises of investments.

The factory is so deep in shit that the only thing that is keeping it afloat is the fact that it's running directly from the state cash register

Its what you make it, really. If you show up and you're dedicated in your work you will have a great time and vice versa. We have a list of incredibly talented professors though - you just need to pick their subjects.
Unfortunately, that's the reality in most educations, I think. Just handed in my problem statement for my BA and gonna write about how education has become a commodity :)

You're studying? Troede du var pæda.

My honest opinion on why it is this way is because the humanities students really aren't feeling any love lately. When my tutors started their history studies, that is two years before me - the methodology course was three semesters, 6 papers and an oral examn. When I started that same course was 1 semester and just two papers. Furthermore I haven't had a subject - on my 7th semester btw - where I've had more than 4 hours of lectures per week. 4 hours per week for 15 ECTS points - really?

Hmm, cool, I guess.

You're studying pædagogik, I assume?

EDIT: Or is it pædagog (professionsbachelor)? I guess it's pædagog judging by your KU rant the other day.
