Sometimes the best way to overcome the grief of losing your best friend is to try to bring in a new one. And that is what my wife and I have done. There was a large Dog Adoption event this past Sunday where 250 dogs from all over the country were brought in to be adopted. My wife and I selected this little guy (who will end up being huge) from the Animal Rescue League booth. He's from a litter of 5 from South Carolina, and they were abandoned. Black Lab/German Shepherd mix. He's 4 months old

Ladies and Gentlemen of my 'Tuz family, I am proud to present the newest member of our family.

Say hello to Nico.

Thanks guys, and don't think for one second that his primary colors being black and white didn't have some weight in my decision.

Well, that and his amber eyes looking up at me when I picked him up for the first time and put him on my lap.

Very nice, but it was stampede. I have it pegged as a 'white person' culture, which evidently I'd have no problems in, probably a bit protestant though. The City itself has probably deteriorated greatly since I was there in terms of social provision and infrastructure due to the oil boom.
It's nice that you liked it. The Stampede is their biggest event, too many cowboy hats for me (always hated cowboy hats with a passion). The only thing that I really really really like about Alberta as a whole is the green spaces and the mountains, and the greenery if ya know what I mean :D
Living and visiting is different, regardless there's plenty irish folks in Edmonton have yet to meet a lame one :D
