Tories think Infrastructure is about competition :gsol: and that vital national assets should be privatised for the good of the people. Which is why train prices have jumped over 200% since privatisation.

Capitalism fails in practice every day  when will people learn.
Ha, so strange. The only thing that works in Bolivia is privatization.

It's the IMF with their loans and requests for fast privatization what ruins everything. They wanna sell fast - prices go low due to low demand, they create monopolies, competition dies, prices go up by a huge margin. Also, huge unemployment as a cherry on the of the cake.
But but free market :p You need to control prices in public transport, it's just NOT something that should be milked for profit.

Charity person said YOLO to me, now Syrian children will die because she's not getting my money.

As good as in Argentina and 90% of South America? :p
At least when you look at what private corporations/cooperatives/etc offer you, you'll find a good service for a good price (clean water, good energy, good clinics etc). Then you look at state-owned companies and this is the only word to describe it inefficient (and shitty, too).

I guess this has more to do with corruption though.

This is probably embarrassing, but I haven't paid much attention to Indian politics. My mom tells me that they've done well for our community, but when it comes the whole nation, they've apparently sold out to the money. Wasn't convinced by nationalist ideology either. So I didn't even vote for them in the elections a few months ago.
Maybe I've read things wrong, but I got the sense that the BJP's support of a nationalist ideology was centered around a Hindu identity, yes?

Now back to this Web site I'm working on for ordering Catholic prayer Masses for loved ones which I call e-indulgences.com. :pado:

Yes, you're right. They're big on Hinduism and building upon the Hindu identity. It probably stems from their association with the RSS(look it up). I'm not sure how that is supposed to be compatible with the idea of a secular India. I try to stay away from parties that are based on nationalism and religion. So BJP ain't a party that I favour all that much.

Since privatisation, more than 100,000 jobs have been lost at BT...
It's fucking shit.

One of the reasons I'd fancy Scottish independence is that we may just be a lefty enough country for someone to propose re-nationalisation of key industries/utilities and stand a chance of winning an election with that policy.

The Nationalist and Unionist communities are sitting down for a peaceful dialogue over Protestant Parading.

Just as long as they suspend the peaceful stuff when Celtic play in Belfast.
