It's funny, I have the same problem with coding 'languages' that I do with traditional 'languages',
Academically they are thought as a grounding of rules and then built upon, so they are examined structurally, not intuitively. Language isn't meant to be learned Grammar first, that's not how communication as a process evolved. So force be to learn the 'grammar' of Java and I lose any interest in learning it.
I have had zero hours grammar in the English language. Every linguist I've met has told me that immersion is of paramount importance and yet apparently I do it all wrong.
Language is expression, expression is Art, Art knows no structure.
