Hot and salty food (chicken soup isn't a complete myth). Plenty of water.

I managed to clear a cold in 3 days last week, which is good going for me.

And don't use nasal sprays.

True, that often works. I remember one nagging head cold I couldn't get rid of for two weeks. I went on a 30km hike up and down the back of a mountain of granite, and whatever ickiness I had I entirely left up there on the mountain.
