So as many of you know, I've got this coffee thing going on. Blog, events, free stuff, and lots of good coffee -- and lots of bad. I've already scored one free Saeco machine outta this.
So now I'm invited to a Nespresso grand opening in SF. They even sent me the attached metal invitation, which is a bit like the ticket in the original Willy Wonka movie. Just the postage on it alone cost $6.90.
What they probably haven't realized is that they're going to give me one of their espresso machines and I'm 99% likely to rip them a new one publicly on it -- as I have consistently done for their mass-produced, pre-ground, mega food conglomerate products in the past.

Their coffee and machines are meh: not terrible, but not good. But what irks me is that the frame it like it's this luxurious crap that's of elite quality, when in reality Nespresso is no different than your biggest supermarket brand of canned peas made by the world's largest food corporation.

It's a joint birthday party with another of my friends, and that friend invited him as they're close. And thank you, though it's not until next week
One day myself and my housemates threw a party and I invited some of my coworkers. Because my boss was visiting from NJ, he had a free Saturday night and decided to crash my party when he overheard. My wife (then gf) answered the door and was like, "Uh...." -- knowing that it could kill off the whole party atmosphere.
Turned out we had a great time and it totally changed our relationship for the better. We've been on great terms ever since, even after we stopped working together a dozen years ago.
So I'm saying it could even, miraculously, work out...
