It's not pastry, it's a dumpling. Roughly pasta territory.

How come you don't know what you're talking about? I thought you were a foodie?
I know. But they are the same concept. A simple dough (leavened or unleavened) with a filling.

One of the most universal type of foods.

They're okay. There are other Polish dishes that are much better.

We call it burek/byrek for every one, just add the rest at the end. burek with cheese, with meat, with spinach and so on.

pita is just pita bread.
Same as the montenegrinians. :agree:

I could really go for some pita now.

But really, meat pies are delicious. I'm making one tomorrow night :lick:

I don't give a shit what people eat, so long as they don't simultaneously complain about being on a diet, or try to get me to eat it.

Well yes, abstracting even more it's some piece of food mixed with another piece of food, universal idea. But that doesn't make the specifics any different.

To be fair it was your idea to go in that direction :D
I should have known better :)

Not many people are aware that meat pies, empanadas, gyoza, pirog, pierogi, dim sum style dumplings and so on are all the same concept

Same-ish, but different types of pastry and cooking methods.

I'm not opposed to the concept. I'm opposed to the concept of the Brits cooking that. (And in general, cooking. :p)
Shut your mouth.
