I'm not denying it just saying what it is. They only perform mass in Sundays all other duties do not get performed unless its an emergency. If you want to call the mass work them that's what it is

Would someone pay them a salary (or living expenses as you decided to call it) if they didn't do mass? As in would people be perfectly content if all the priests did all the other stuff but no Sunday mass? If not then mass is work.
