He's not contradictive on purpose, I sincerely believe that he doesn't have the capacity to to be a part of some discussions and that he stubbornly tries to, driven by some conviction that everything is black and white. It's not really that rare here in Denmark either, like Krarup saying that he would forbid Muslims from hiting their kids and allow the Danes to do so, because the Danes do that with love in mind whereas the Muslims do not. His followers are plenty, all claim to be loving and understanding people but with principles - the fact of the matter is that they're bigots, but you can't tell them that because they get really angry.
