Is it in any way related to ouzo? The name raki is close to the balkan rakija - but the wiki page doesn't suggest that they are alike.
Ouzo and raki are both anise-flavored. According to wiki, the Balkan one is made from plums, apricots or grapes.

I see, I didn't have an appropriate glass to hand, but it was disgusting. I've never liked anything liquorice-flavoured though. It was a spur of the moment purchase from duty free in Istanbul airport.

Raki is the same as rakija. I didn't know it originated from Turkey tho, it's pretty popular in Albania.

Wait what? Liqourice flavored? And after seeing that wiki page, why is it milky white?

It might be different after all.

When it's this hot I barely move, my brain never goes beyond 40%.
I feel the same way, and when I complain about the weather being too varm [for me], there's always a bunch of good weather-fascist telling me how wrong I am and how lovely it is lying in the sun and that I should just be happy and blah blah blah..

Yeah, it's pure doctrine that sunny and warm is good weather.

It becomes milky white if you mix it with a splash of water :lick:
