that doesn't count as a new language. it's like saying some black people know two languages, ghetto speak and regular speak. my english teacher called them different languages but I don't buy it.

We do have a different language here than just English. It's a broken form of French called Patois. I do not speak a word of it though. :p

Really? :D Cool! I would have probably asked them to speak it for me lol. But somehow I always thought it was the first language spoken there.
I was dragged there by my dad to some Parang thing, probably.
Is it anything like creole?
Creole just means from the Caribbean. It's all different. I can barely understand Jamaicans and Grenadians.

Isn't Patois just a generalization of non-standard or "pigeon speak"? Meaning different cultures have their own Patois like Gulf Coast, Carolina Islands, Louisiana, Caribbean, etc.

Creole doesn't have to be French, it's any language that originated from a pidgin. I think.
