their tactical set up was a victory, but that doesn't mean they played well. The late 80's italian NT would've shaken their head and gone "damn guys, don't you need to attack a little bit?"
I'm not saying they played well in general, I mean for them. It was nice to see a small amount of pep and a small amount of actual attacking.

And Kate? England playing well? It was the Park the bus in front of the goal like Chelsea does all the time. Nothing well about that at all.
And compared to other performances it was better, that's all.

English attacking? They had two players in attack, with the midfield holding back from the final third, italy had 5/6 in attack - every chance. England played as awful as they are and didn't deserve a victory.

They played to their strengths. Can't fault them for that. Though they probably should have played with five men in midfield to at least try and get some possession.

For once no one looked terrified, John Terry actually did something, and they had some dangerous chances.
As much as John Terry is a loathsome human being, he is a very brutal, tough man.

I was worried that Walcott would be a problem for us when he came on. Thank goodness he wasn't.
I wasn't. This isn't Arsenal, where the defensive prowess of your opponents rates somewhere between 6-year-old schoolchildren playing Red Rover and a cheesecloth.

I agree. England played at a level they could be proud of, and not resorting to the antics that Capello is known for.

They ran out of attacking gas after the first 20 minutes, however.

I'm just glad we now don't have to sit through the media frenzy that comes with every England v Germany match :D
And the Carling Black Label TV commercials come out...

Damnbusters style...

Bless, my mum just sent me an email saying how cute Prandelli is.
I never thought of Prandelli as a looker... just another Italian bloke in a nice suit.
