Considered saving the money? Going on a rad holiday? Buying an instrument and doing something creative? You are lucky to have that kind of lose change, don't spend on a shiny toy that wont do anything you can't do already.
Yo, it's not like it's the last $500 I have. Buying this does not mean I have to eat my cereal with a fork for the next 3 years.

I was expecting you to give me some kinda anti-Apple reasons not to get it :D

What do I need to convince you about then? You don't need it, spend the £300-£500 on something actually worth it, that some chinese dude living in chengdu didn't commit suicide after making it.
the same chinese dude who died for your itouch and cell phone? weak excuse

get the iPad if you like it Matt. They look like a novelty item to me but I've seen a lot of people use them in school.

I don't have any major problems with apple - completely disinterested. But Pads (of all brands) are filling a whole in the market that doesn't exist. I have an iTouch because apple make, by far, the best mp3 players and i've used them for years. Plus the iTunes store makes buying music cheap and simple.

I didn't mean to imply you are poor, i mean to imply that there a billions of people in the world that don't have $500 lying around the spend on an iPad and im pretty sure they wouldn't be spending it on one if they (lest they be from a consumer market country ie. UK/USA etc.) If I had that money around i'd spend it on travelling or a guitar.

Different factories and i don't have an iphone....I dont know which country gets people to commit suicide for blackberry's.

I'll sleep on it. I heard there's a pillow app.
That's sick

I didn't say you have an iPhone. I said cellphone. All factories in China are the same shit, trust me. Apple's just getting slack because they're apple.

Me personally? I could get by in east europe/asia for 6/7 weeks on that.
Gotta take into account the ticket :D

And a vacation isn't necessarily better than material goods. Different people have different perspectives.

I guess I could only really get around the Caribbean with that.
Or you could have the craziest night of your life.

Got home from a very long day! -.- I hate school.

I already have everything I need.

So I'm trying to figure out if I really want this toy.
Did you not listen to me threaten to throw mine away several times? :D I honestly always wanted one before I got mine and now that I have it, not really that impressed. In fact my mom uses mine to play some corny games and occasionally google stuff. For me nothing will ever replace my laptop. If you want it though go for it. Personally I like my Ipod touch more. It's a mini version of the Ipad and you can use it while you work out. In fact I'd get an ipod touch and a kindle for that price. Not the kindles with the LCD screen either cuz they hurt your eyes when you try to read. E-ink= da best!

I was for east europe, I can get from Bristol to Poland for $60 return inc. taxes etc. Travelling around cities, food and hostels are super cheap in east europe. The best hostel in the world for a number of years in Sofia, bulgaria was $7 a night (mostel hostel)...the best in the world lol and they give you two free meals a day.
