Everyone with a brain feels the same way Aaron about todays hip hop compared to before, but there is still alot of great shit to be found, you just have to look harder for it.


And I know what you mean Jasper, like those you mentionned (except I dont think I know of Rick James music, I only know him as a briilliant chappelle sketch lol). And I dont even listen to The Stones (or their genre in general) except the random showing/airing of them on tv/radio throughout the years, but I can still name several songs of theirs, funny if someone who is wearing their shirt cant. Some artists/groups are too classic/iconic to not know about some of their material.


And Aaron, thanks for reminding me of ODB, I allways listen to this unusual for him song quite regurarly hehe, "whyyyyyyyyy do youuuuuu build me up, just to leeeeeet me down"

I've always thought it strange when one has to treasure hunt for good music.

Yeah I know what you mean, there was a long period of time I only listened to french rap lol.

I listen to more Portuguese and even Italian rap than I listen to English rap. And much of the English rap I listen to is half mixed with Afrikaans.

I listen to mostly english and spanish music. But not a lot of what you would hear on the radio.

It was so long time ago (8-9 years, I got hooked when I saw la haine movie) I forgot most of them (will pm you those I remember later), but they are very easy to found on youtube if you search for french hip hop. They have very dope old school sound in their rap game in general (its at times like they are in the stage US rap was in mid 90s when it comes to the sound).
