The Indian dude has his own Comedy Central stand up special. He's funny as shit.

Except it takes place in an American local government office.
Aziz is greatness

he is the best indian comedian ever being that he doesn't talk about indians or any other race. He's just a normal funny comedian. No bits, no gimmicks.

We saw him live last year and he tore it up

fuck Russell Peters and those other dumb fuck indian comics

Sorry Greggo but Parks is all about the characters

absolutely brilliant actors playing great roles. I never give credit to actors but these folks are funny unlike the office and other dumb shows
The kings of American deadpan mockumentary comedy have to be Christopher Guest/Michael McKean/Harry Shearer/et al. Whereas I thought Spinal Tap was hilarious, and Best In Show, Waiting for Guffman was just insufferable.

There's a certain forced comedy that doesn't work for me based on the notion of small-town players and their petty problems trying to be big-pants/big-city movers and shakers. And that's where Parks & Rec fails for me. I don't think that vein of jokes is funny at all.

Comedy Central premiered in India while I was out there... that was kind of cool.

You should spend some time in a small town public office then. Shit would amaze you.

I like mitch hedberg :D

but seriously most of the comics on comedy central are really bad.
I don't watch a lot of stand up. So I can't really argue. Sometimes CC has someone good on the Stash.

My wife thought Waiting for Guffman was funny while I wanted to put a power drill through my skull watching it with her. But I grew up in Chicago and she grew up in the farmville of Napa. I think that has something to do with whether you think that's funny or not.

There are no punchlines or jokes in Parks & Rec, Greggo

Yeah, that's true. Experience and upbringing probably have a big influence on comedic preference.

For standup to be funny it has to be original and the comedian has to deliver it correctly. Most of the random comedians I've seen on tv tend to struggle with one of or both of those aspects.
I agree. Of the SU I've seen, I find very few to be funny. Mostly George Carlin and Ricky Gervais. They're brilliant!

Growin pubes and smokin doobs.
You know what I'm talking about! ;)
