Well... the UK isn't a country.

Its very simple - the United Kingdom is the Sovereign State, within the United Kingdom are various Nations & Islands. Including the island of Great Britain (Which includes England, Scotland & Wales), Northern Ireland, Gibralta, Fauklands etc. None of the states within the United Kingdom hold any sovereign power.

England has no sovereignty of its own, neither do Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. Like each state within the USA. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have devolved parliaments where they can make local laws on education, infrastructure and healthcare - so long as they don't go against laws that govern the UK. England is only represented in the UK Parliament, which is why some fuckwits want there to be an English Parliament too.

The UK is the Sovereign Power, the others are just parts of that Sovereign Power. Simple.

To be clear this is the definition of a Sovereign State

A sovereign state, or simply, state, is a state with a defined territory on which it exercises internal and external sovereignty, a permanent population, a government, and the capacity to enter into relations with other sovereign states.[1] It is also normally understood to be a state which is neither dependent on nor subject to any other power or state.[2] While in abstract terms a sovereign state can exist without being recognised by other sovereign states, unrecognised states will often find it hard to exercise full treaty-making powers and engage in diplomatic relations with other sovereign states.

As set out by the the treaty of Westphalia in 1648.

I do have a bit of a chip on my shoulder about this because so few people understand such a simple thing.

I know that, man. I represented the UK in the United Nations model thing.
Then there is no argument to have and your point is redundent. By International Law a country comes under the Treaty of Westphalia regarding sovereignty. Self Determination is a different matter, just because someone wants to be a country doesn't make them a country...if that were the case then Kurdistand would exist and not be Iraq, Iran, Syria & Turkey.

I represented Palestine when I did the one in my town....that was fun - we wern't allowed to talk because we were guest observers. We buddied up with a load of countries and they tried to pass an early morning motion to allow us to take part in the debates but the USA (private school fucks) turned up and veto'd it. Cunts.

Have you ever thought about smoking weed to relax a little?
I do, it doesn't....just makes me paranoid and depressed.

I wonder how many scots/welsh realise that they will never cease to be British - Its part of the Island of Great Britain. Become a seperate sovereign power and you're still on the island called Great Britain. I really don't care about devolution, your fucked if you do it and your angry if you don't, still funny how few people realise.

I understand how Scots feel. It's the same in Bolivia, my department (state) fucking hates the rest of the country and we are nothing like the rest. We don't have cholas and llamas. We should be part of Paraguay, we share the same culture with them.

I don't sympathise with them in the slightest. Lets be clear - I hate this country and feel no ownership over scotland. They would be FUCKED if they wern't in the UK, everything they now take for granted would be gone in an instant. The SNP now actually recognise this and as part of the referendum have the option "independent but retaining economic and defence dependence" my responce to that is - Fuck Off. You have it all or you have nothing, you are part of the UK and keep free health care, defence, EU membership, UN membership etc. etc. or you go it alone and have nothing that the UK gives to its citizens. You can't have your cake and eat it. Its ridiculous.
