I just think it's sad that out of what 13 specials he did, okay I haven't seen them all but I have seen enough, only about the last one was actually good. Everything before that contained a lot of ideas that could have been done well, but were completely wasted and overrun by a constant stream of toilet humor.

I don't understand why people need to feel disgusted in order to laugh, what is this bizarre deficiency? I really detest this dumbing down to the lowest common denominator.

Bill Hicks/Doug Stanhope btw I find waaaay more watchable.

Bill Hicks was great because he was always to the point, "a bullet in the heart of consumerism". I found his off the topic stuff - goat boy etc. boring, Doug Stanhope is crass but only to the point of pointing out how ridiculous something is, he is again always to the point and focused on what he is attacking.

Carlin spends ten minutes getting to the point and explaining what he means and mixes it up with as you say 'toilet humour'.

Bill Hicks died as an "anonymous figure" in the US and only really having a following in the UK. Doug Stanhope tours small venues around europe and even smaller in the US - his main audience again is in Europe. George Carlin has numerous TV Specials, Sell out tours in big venues and appeared often on primetime tv....Toilet humour sells, because big audiences don't have the attention span to focus on one subject in detail without distractions.

A lot of mediterreanean woman peak in their mid twenties but start shrinking & seriously lose their look once they hit their late 30's. I've seen it happen with A LOT of Portugese women.

My wife is a few months older than me. When we were back in the Azores a year ago, we met a cousin of hers on her father's side for the first time. He's practically in his 70s, but then her dad was 29 years older than her mom (not a lot of choice on a small island and all).

Cool guy -- he was kind of like the Portuguese William Shatner. Anyway, we met his two youngest daughters, who were younger than my wife by a decade. They looked at least a decade older than her.

Just came back from a 4 hour walk. Pretty worn out, but couldn't spend the whole day not doing anything or else my muscles would kill me.

One of these days they will introduce cars in Europe and this will be a lot easier on you.

I wouldn't recommend Hawaii. Know too many people who thought that and bought/sold within a year. (It's expensive too.)

Yeah, he's fantastic. I saw him live in London once, by half time I had laughed so much I had to stop myself in the second half. He was doing the Tinselworm show (although by the time the dvd came out a lot of new stuff was in there) and though the dvd isn't so good the live show really was.

Dylan Moran has a terrific attitude, but he lacks strong ideas.

Being a landlord for a vacation property thousands of miles away isn't exactly a cash machine. You get to deal with tourists who throw up on your furniture, get drunk and bust holes in your walls, children and pets taking dumps in various rooms, etc. And meanwhile, you think it's going to earn you money while you're shelling out for the mortgage as a higher-taxed non-residency dwelling?

And then when you want to live there yourself for only that week or so, you have to put up with all the crap that's been inhabiting your place in the meantime and the junk furnishings you had to set out because of all the disregard random tourists show the place.

Did you really think this through, Cam?
