I just think it's sad that out of what 13 specials he did, okay I haven't seen them all but I have seen enough, only about the last one was actually good. Everything before that contained a lot of ideas that could have been done well, but were completely wasted and overrun by a constant stream of toilet humor.
I don't understand why people need to feel disgusted in order to laugh, what is this bizarre deficiency? I really detest this dumbing down to the lowest common denominator.

Carlin spends ten minutes getting to the point and explaining what he means and mixes it up with as you say 'toilet humour'.
Bill Hicks died as an "anonymous figure" in the US and only really having a following in the UK. Doug Stanhope tours small venues around europe and even smaller in the US - his main audience again is in Europe. George Carlin has numerous TV Specials, Sell out tours in big venues and appeared often on primetime tv....Toilet humour sells, because big audiences don't have the attention span to focus on one subject in detail without distractions.
