Cool. So you get a lot of efficiency even in the authenticated case.
Yeah, except it pretty much forces you to keep the files on the same box as the webapp, which is less yummy. I haven't figured out what to do about that yet. I suppose you could spin up an instance of the app on a box that only does file serving and auth, which would be an improvement on the general case. But it's not a really clean solution.

Well, at least it's not as bad as having an app server delivering up static files. (I've been in a few companies that did that for expediency.)

EARTHQUAKE!!!10 seconds ago. Fuck that was fun!

See you guys in a while, everyone is screaming to get downstairs!
That's kinda messed up. Here in CA the conventional wisdom is that most people die in earthquakes at the boundaries of buildings -- i.e., doorways and windows where glass and structures tend to fall, etc. Thus instructing people to "get downstairs" is essentially putting people in harm's way.

Of course, I don't know the building codes for where you are, Woody... :shifty: Stay safe.

I don't think Delhi falls under high risk zones for earthquake and i am definitely not aware of equipment (if any) installed to counter these things.

So building crush them when it collapses?
