How's it obsolete?

I play on a course that's on a hill so it's always windy.

I can't get the sort of low, penetrating ball flight I get with the 1-iron with fairway woods or hybrid things.
Weird, I play on a hill and it's rarely windy

It's obsolete because nobody uses them any more as they aren't as generally 'good' as the new generation of hybrids and FWs

Have you tried like a 24 degree, I use one I bought in Lidly with a steel shaft to hit shots under trees etc.

I don't like hybrids. I just don't like how they set-up behind the ball for some reason.

I don't buy the idea thata 1-iron isn't as good as newer clubs. Those new clubs don't suit my game, so they're of no use to me. Most players wouldn't be able to hit a 1-iron as well as a hybrid, but I'm not most players.

Anyway, I love my 1-iron.

Smashing it about 240 yards, with a little draw and keeping it below head-height all the way may be my favourite type of shot.

Anyway, my game is odd.

I made it down to being a 5 handicapper, despite frequently playing with 20 handicapper who could hit the ball of the tee better than me.

I just told that joke to my mate about 5minutes ago, his dad looked exactly live Seve and played with a 1 iron

I play off 22 if I'm being serious but usually we just play off scratch as motivation/practice.

I know what you mean, one of my friends can hit a Pitching Wedge 190 yards no joke. At the range of course, he's all hands so when on the course he hits the ball at right fucking angles :D

Man. Been a busy last couple of days. Portland was way cool, though sleepy. Was weird as it was what the locals called "the first day of real summer", and I could not only see the towering Mt. Hood to the east but also the dome of Mount St. Helens to the north.

The interviews went well. It's going to be a pretty touch job. But the fact that they're even considering me should give me some reason to believe I can actually do it. :p

How's you all been lately back at the Tuz?
