Okay this HR rep just sent me a message on Linkedin about a vacant position she has in her company. How do I tell her that currently I'm not interested but that I might be in the upcoming future?
Fabi, I live and die by these. Accept her info. Like E says, always keep the door open later. I've landed at least a couple jobs because of this technique, and I'm milking it again between jobs right now.

It's always good to window shop and to get to know the people selling the goods, even if you aren't buying right then. Because later, you will.

Because I just got a promotion in my current company and I don't want to leave just yet :D however I don't wanna shut her down because everything changes so quickly I could be in search of a new job in a year who knows
Congrats on the promo.

But yes, don't shut her down. Just let her know that you are appreciative that she reached out to you but are currently not seeking other opportunities. However, should that change in the future, you both should definitely hook up.

Bloody hell i got a shock tonight. I had dinner in the restaurant at the bottom of the empire state, because the pizzeria that sergio suggested had a 2 hour wait at 6pm lol. I had a nice dinner and chilled with a couple of beers. Got the check at $50 and my card was declined, i went to the atm and i had $7 in my account. How in the fuck that happened i do not know, i had $700 on monday. :shifty: After i explained the manager they just let me off and told me to be more careful. If id of known thats what would of happened i woulda got the fillet mignion and a bottle of chauteaux neuf du pape and racked up a bigger bill for them to write off :D

I forgot to finish this story, check the edit.

Is that normal in america or was i as lucky as i suspect?
Depends on where you are. Luckily a lot of smaller establishments are understanding with weary travelers.

Guess you won't leave America with a complete hatred of the country?:D

Not a complete hatred lol. Nah i like america, but when you get stuff wrong you guys get it really wrong and when you get it right, you get it really right. 7/11 being one of the things you get right :D. Shitty coffee and its cheap. Starbucks is shitty coffee and its expensive.
You got a nice treatment. Generous. How un-NYC of them. :D
Thats what i thought, I had assumed i would have to leave my passport or something and come back to pay - which is what i offered after they let me off. Or at worst i would have the police called down and id get the same deal. Its what would happen in london. Its the first time i've ever had my card declined because i didn't have the money. Its the first time ive ever felt poor .

True! And I would have totally gone to the interview to see what she had to offer had I not gotten this promotion this week... I usually like going to interviews even if I'm not Interested so I can know how a person with my background is valued in the job market. But as usual Murphy's Law had to come in effect haha

True. I don't speak American either.

It sucks that racial profiling goes on. I wouldn't make that judgement based on skin tone, id base it on how the person has behaved, how they are dressed etc. and there body language. They could tell id made a genuine mistake i guess, but i dont know how they would have reacted to someone of a darker skin tone...they were both white.
