Apparently the Catholic church released a statement blaming sexual abuse by priests on the 1960's sexual revolution/hippie movement, a.k.a. people who had turned away from Christianity for other answers.
It really stupefies me that the Catholic Church has utterly failed at crisis communication 101 in the modern world. You admit your mistakes, you take responsibility, you demonstrate actions that will prevent it from ever happening again, you apologize, and you move on.
Instead, we get the 1953 model of blame, denial, defensiveness, scapegoating, etc.

It was amusing for some, but not for everyone. Personally, I am against new threads that make another member or members here the topic of discussion. Other mods don't see it that way, but I am trying to convince them.
