every museum i have been in has selectively told the truth and when it does tell the truth it passes the blame elsewhere or doesnt bother actually explaining what happened.

How can you have an exhibit on the vietnam war and not mention agent orange? How can you have a museum dedicated to the indigenous populations and not mention the genocide (the thing that essentially created the need for that museum). I can list for hours all of the shit i've come across over the past three days. Its just stupid, or rather the people that visit and dont notice this stuff are.

Having lived in Maryland for a couple of years myself, I think you're missing the big picture. Nobody who lives there ever goes to the Smithsonian. The only time we ever do is to accompany guests from out of town or from out of the country. Hence, the Smithsonian is a gift for the locals to brainwash outsiders like yourself.
