It takes talent, but speed like that falls into the musical category of "excessive noodling". It's not my cup of tea when musicians treat music like some gymnastics competition. I'll take expressiveness anyday over setting land speed records.
Yeah , I know what you mean , he was showing off and he was just like " hey people , see how much talent I got here " .

But he's a great musician , listen to this one :

Really great piece .

Well if you wanted videos that showed off skills on the keyboard, then that was it. :D
"Showing off skills". That's my problem right there. I know you're a big fan of Joe Satriani, for example. One of my biggest criticisms of him as a musician is his self-indulgent noodling. That navel-gazing approach to thinking that the best music is the one with the biggest deck.

Which is why I liked that last video you posted from Satriani... it was definitely of a more thoughtful, and less reflex-driven, style.

 Joe moved away from what I call wankery a long time ago. His music is more soulful nowadays. You should check out Steve Vai. He's really skilful on the guitar and actually plays some interesting music.

Oh, one more song...

Exactly , showing off is not a problem as long as you don't do it over and over again .
Because after the first and second time people will know that you are really talented , and then they want something touches their souls , something meaningful , a piece that express something .
