I thought it took the humor of a Three Stooges and crossed a sadistic line where it was no longer funny, which is why I find Itchy & Scratchy hilarious. Because Tom & Jerry embodies what every freaked out parent fears about their kids growing up to be Jeffrey Dahmers.

Good question, Kate. Nothing planned. But then my wife is a majorly awesome home chef. Tomorrow is likely going to be burnt chicken on the BBQ at a friend's backyard pool with lots of tequila. Sunday, I'll probably just douse myself with tequila and set myself on fire after we lose to Parma.

This is such a great time of year, though, as peas are coming in, the chance of zucchini blossoms, etc. One of my favorite simple, decadent things, and it's pretty Roman, is frying up some zucchini blossoms. (I scoff at those who ruin them by stuffing them with cheese or something.)

No weekend plans otherwise?

Do you grow your own produce at all? Sadly we do not get a very good selection here, and it is rare to see good zucchini (one of my favourite foods).

No big weekend plans. James is quite ill tonight, so we will just order some Chinese food and loaf in front of the television for a while. Tomorrow I will go to the market and maybe go for a run in the afternoon, but again nothing big. A lot of my friends are out of town at the moment.

It's difficult in San Francisco city proper. Four subway stops out of town and we could grow tomatoes. But in the city, we have this natural air conditioning thing called the Pacific Ocean. So with the Alaskan ocean currents that rip through here and never let water temperatures get above 11℃, nothing ever gets too warm. Hence most of what we can grow in our backyard are herbs, etc.

I like TV loafing at times, particularly after a crazy work week. But my wife gets antsy after a while.
