Anybody who actually took time out of their day to watch that stuff, and isn't British, is an idiot.

Yes indeed, millions of people across the world are idiots. Shocker.
My facebook was filled with statuses about the wedding at 5 am. All girls too. Probably living their princess fantasies

And get flown around the world, tough gig. But still, many people, including thousands of Americans, ensure that they make the country hundreds of millions.

 I don't know why someone would wake up at 5am to watch a wedding ceremony live on TV.

I can't even go through one in real life without wanting to fall asleep

I kinda get it. It's a bit of that gossip mentality that existed since before the invention of the Sicilian grandmother. And since our Hollywood starlet weddings don't get the coverage, these royal wedding things become the once-in-a-generation schlick-fests for princess wannabes in the same way sports fans have their World Cups. They're public, they're open, they're lavish, and they're completely vapid. Stuff a lot of people love.

If people can watch The Bachelor on TV, they sure as hell are gonna watch this crap.

Except that these aren't even our own "leaders", as if we should cherish their useless existence, too.

At least in the World Cup you have two countries competing against one another, with their fans (hopefully) supporting their nation's football.

The "Royal" bunch of degenerate pieces of trash wedding is just some rich clowns getting married. Anybody should have more enjoyment taking a dump than watching that.

As an old housemate of mine from Tolouse, France once put it, "In France, we adore and are enthralled by the British royalty. Which doesn't make too much sense given that the last time we had our own, we cut their heads off."

It was easy to see where you were going with that one. :D

We definitely need to bring back the guillotine. There's some bankers that need to be Todd and Timmy-ed.

Well of course. People here relate more to the spanish royals (I'm guessing because it's the mother land and all) but personally I wasn't going to lose any sleep to watch someone else's wedding. I watched the highlights and that's it

And you know something, this reminds me of a conversation I had with my coworkers yesterday; I said that I didn't get why someone would camp outside a church to see William/Kate when they got married and one of them said what you just said
