OK, you're in Canada. You get some leniency. There are women here in SF who wear knee-high boots when it's 30℃ out, just because of the time of year, and it's retarded when you're not risking a step knee-deep in snow or mud.

I guess women must think they're sexy because they're conforming in a way. But then so is a fitted body bag and that's about as unsexy as it gets. (Unless you're Dru.)

The point: there's nothing wrong with the other shoes you normally wear. You don't have to zip yourself up like a compression dressing for an IED explosion in the battlefield.

I was going to add that there is nothing else to wear in Canada But I find them attractive on me, if they're a good cut and quality made then they elongate my legs and look professional. The thigh high ones are a personal fetish for me, and for boyfriend, but as I am tall and have quite huge feet I find boots in general a good solution. I cannot wear flats with anything but wide-legged jeans (which I hate) because they make my feet look massive.

But, bottom line is, I like the way they look and feel I dislike Uggs and flipflops because they look lazy, and personally I hate to look lazy.

This is it. A good 75% of girls at the university I work at come to class in sweatpants, pyjama pants, and Uggs or flipflops. It looks ridiculous. And many of them are very pretty, but it's all ruined by the sweatpants and lazy shoes.
