Times might have changed, but when I was at school and a teacher Hindi was not offered. They were starting to offer Japanese and Chinese in English schools, but it was rare.

I just meant that Spain and France are really popular holiday destinations for the English, and was joking that that is the only reason they would even remotely consider languages. But the kids I taught didn't even understand the concept of being able to speak two languages - it is not possible unless you have two nationalities. Some weird ideas in those schools.
