Don't get lightning very often, though.

And a tin foil hat would be the least of your worries when wielding a golf club with lightning about.
Are you the most badass looking golfer there is? I saw your picture the other day, it must help to get the people in front of you to hurry up huh.

The rubber (or whatever the grips are made of) isn't thick enough to protect you.

Not really.

Unlike the rest of the world, golf is not a particularly elitist game in Scotland, so all sorts of people play.

Nice. So you have experience riding then?
Only about 6 months. I rented an R6 to see how I found it before taking the plunge. So I'll look at some prices and take a few for a test ride and take it from there. It's mainly being aware of the other clowns on the road and keeping your wrist in check.

For sure. I want a street bike really badly but I don't have a license for one and I already have a car and a dirtbike. :(
