F&L + The Cool were on Atlantic too, btw.
Yes, I know. Here's the post you made in the other thread.

Ah, Debeb e Andy, you have to realize with ALL of Lupe's newer material is handpicked by Atlantic. If the fan's didn't protest outside Atlantic last year there probably wouldn't even be an album. Atlantic choose all the singles, tracks, collaborations. Too bad, to be honest. I'm sure we would've got something more classic Lu if he was putting together his own album. But, having said that Atlantic don't think that would sell so we won't ever get to hear these tracks.
Atlantic did this, Atlantic did that. But it's more like Lupe let them do it. He doesn't have a contract saying he HAS to work with them no matter what. If there wasn't an album, then so be it, he could put out his better shit with someone else. But instead, he sold out to get paid, which is fine, he can certainly do that. Doesn't mean he's not a sellout.

For a guy who is so intent on rapping about every day issues and staying true to himself and his fans he shouldn't have sold out.

At the end of the day, it comes down to the dollar, not rap. Certainly not hip hop. That shit IS dead.

How is he selling out? It's a bit selfish to expect him not to want more glory and more money, like with footballers or any other professional.
He's selling out because he's a slave to his label, just for cash. He's promoting shit that really isn't his, it's his label's. That is the definition of selling out.

His fault. I'm not buying his new album and I'm not listening to it. It's crap anyway.

His die hard fans won't admit it, which isn't surprising.
