No, you don't understand, I hate India, I HATE IT.

It is a vile place with a culture that accepts its disgusting habits.

India is just as bad as China.
Haters gotta hate.

I love how people automatically hate places they haven't even come within 5000 miles of.

With dead bodies in the Ganges?

Corpses in the street?

Absolutely horrid restroom facilities?
Sounds like Newark, NJ if you asked me.

1) I know what media is.
2) I don't think America is the best place to live, I think it's about 7th or 10th.
3) If my image of India is false, there are no bodies floating in rivers in India? You don't shit in holes in the middle of the floor? There aren't dead bodies in some streets?
I like what nearby Bhutan does. They don't have a GDP. They have a Domestic Happiness Quotient. I am not shitting you.

Because it begs the question. Americans who go to India fall into two camps, typically. One is the horrified camp... they typically judge the value of life only in terms of material comforts.

The other sees the social side of it, the cultural legacy and diversity in its people, and even the diversity and complexities in both rich and poor. In that sense, India is both like America's past and America's future for that matter. This group tends to value life in both material and also non-material ways.

IMO, this is the major question that slaps most Westerners in the face when they arrive there.

To be honest, the US is selling their jobs to India. We ain't stealing it. :D
True dat. I mean, we're giving jobs to illegal Mexicans for that matter. It ain't much different.

A lot of Americans are fat and lazy and expect to get paid top dollar for that. That's a fact.

I wouldn't say 'just like'. I think all countries suck in different aspects. But they do all suck one way or the other.
Agreed that it's a different kind of sucking. But sometimes if you're tired of being someone's prison bitch, it's interesting to change cellmates.

Though as different as the countries are, they are alike in a lot of ways. At least they have far more in common than, say, China.

That's right, but when u think about it a lot of blame goes to the foreigners for not being able to adapt.

I saw some of my classmates and fellow expats moan and cry about china all 6 years but many others like me had the time of their life....ppl who allready came bitter about the culture made life miserable for themselves
