I love how people automatically hate places they haven't even come within 5000 miles of.

Because it begs the question. Americans who go to India fall into two camps, typically. One is the horrified camp... they typically judge the value of life only in terms of material comforts.
The other sees the social side of it, the cultural legacy and diversity in its people, and even the diversity and complexities in both rich and poor. In that sense, India is both like America's past and America's future for that matter. This group tends to value life in both material and also non-material ways.
IMO, this is the major question that slaps most Westerners in the face when they arrive there.

That's right,but when u think about it a lot of blame goes to the foreigners for not being able to adapt.
I saw some of my classmates and fellow expats moan and cry about china all 6 years but many others like me had the time of their life....ppl who allready came bitter about the culture made life miserable for themselves
