Well I'm praying for your lunch now, to the Flying Spaghetti Monster, naturally, clearly the best qualified diety in questo campo.
My lunch has arrived, and it is pretty damn good. Basic chicken curry with naan. Pretty Anglo-pedestrian, but far better than their über-Anglo tikka masala. :lick:

god is great :touched:

You eat lunch at your desk usually or?
Prayer apparently works. ;)

Btw, do you consider yourself a skeptic? I think you would. Do you know about the big 1023 event going on worldwide this month? A friend of mine is organizing the SF Bay Area chapter's.

I suppose so. I like to split hairs and criticize all kinds of stuff, even if I haven't taken any skeptic vows and I have no initiation in the culture as such. Haven't heard of that, no.

Weird. The one thing I can't find on that website is what they actually plan to do on that day.

The homeopathy overdose gag is very funny btw :D
Oh, I know in detail what they plan to do in the SF chapter one. But I am sworn to secrecy. :D It's going to be a media event, with press releases and invitation of TV cameras in the area, etc. So that's part of the reason for being a little obscure about it.

There are a lot of people whose livelihoods depend on the continued support of fake science, and things can get ugly if they can cause trouble in advance of any plans.

It sounds fun, but I'm actually not. What I can share with you is that the people doing the overdose here in SF took extra medical precautions. Not so much for the overdose of "active" ingredients. But with homeopathy, they are worried about the side effects of large doses of the supposed inactive ingredients. So they are going to have medical staff on hand for full effect -- and in case some of the over-the-counter stuff really turns out to be damaging of it's own non-active-ingredient accord.

Yeah, that's just the thing. Taken in homeopathic doses they are certainly harmless in every sense, but if you take a whole bottle of that who knows if the random background noise ingredients might mess you up.
