People have a weird psychology of denial. The problem is never the thing being abused, but it's easier to blame that thing. The problem is always personal -- and is typically a person's inability to moderate themselves. That's the root problem.

So going "cold turkey" has its appeal for a lot of people, but it's really just denial. Worse, when in denial, all it takes is an opportunity to encounter the stuff and binging can immediately occur because the thing has suddenly taken on some kind of totemic power in the eyes of the abuser.

So in the end, going cold turkey is like the gay man who joins the priesthood to "cure" himself of his homosexuality. That's avoiding the problem, not facing it.

You should try a festival in the summer if you don't many acts your way pal, I'm quite fortunate that so many acts come to Rock City as its a bit of an old shrine.
I'll probably be going to Oxegen. Arctic Monkeys, Blink-182 and Foo Fighters are confirmed.

I heard QOTSA rumours. That seems very unlikely but it would be amazing.

Self control is very important when it comes to alcohol, drugs, or anything that makes you feel good but harms you instead. A human with poor will power should stay away from stuff like this. Period.

Sounds good, when is the monkey's new album due?
Foo fighters and Arctic monkeys Sound good enough to me, by the looks of things there'll definitely be another big act or two, as I'm sure you'll get more big acts than the main land European events get.
I've always fancied T-in the park or Isle of Wright myself.

Or learn to develop it.

Ever notice that a lot of the kids in college who complete binge drank came from families where drinking was forbidden to them? It's often the kids from families where it's no big deal to have a beer or a glass of wine now and then who don't completely go overboard.

The date hasn't been announced yet but I presume it'll have to be before they start playing festivals in June.

The Strokes have been rumoured too.
